About the Authors
Kenneth Robbins, MD, MPH
Dr. Ken Robbins is a physician who is board-certified in psychiatry and internal medicine. Dr. Robbins functions in multiple capacities. He works as an administrator to lead health care system change to integrate psychiatry within the rest of medicine.
As a clinician, he has spent much of his career working with geriatric patients, specifically those with dementia. Informed by his decade-long experience, he has developed an approach firmly rooted in the belief that building proactive team-based care optimally addresses the person as a whole.
Charles Levin
Charles Levin is an author who has written four thriller novels, NOT SO DEAD, NOT SO GONE, NOT SO DONE, and STILL NOT DEAD, and a collection of 30 short stories called The Last Appointment. Charlie is the founder and publisher of the Munn Avenue Press. He and his team of book publishing and marketing experts help authors in 12 countries turn manuscripts into books into bestsellers.
About the Co-Authors
Alison Coulson, BSN, RN
Alison Coulson is a registered nurse and research program coordinator at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she works with an interdisciplinary team focused on advancing care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and their care partners. She also works in hospice, sitting with patients and families at the end of life—where she has learned that full presence and human connection are often the most powerful things in the room.
Carrie Pierce
Carrie Pierce is an author and leadership and life coach who specializes in helping people navigate complex, high-stakes situations where the path forward isn’t always clear. Her work centers on helping people slow down, think clearly, and rebuild trust in their own judgment.
Caregiving, especially in the context of dementia, calls for that kind of steadiness every day. It’s a heavy and often isolating responsibility. She hopes that this offers a place to land, something that helps caregivers feel more grounded, clearer, and a little less alone in it.
